[review] 2017 W6: review of holdings

Foreword
Recently my aim of adopting a less stressful trading style is paying off. I posted about it just last weekend (here), and i hope i can stick to this mindset and i hope it proves to be profitable in the long run.
recently, I also read about volume as an indicator, this new input is helping me determine with better accuracy if the selling is a retracement/bullflag in the making or a reversal/change in trend.

but then again, please still do your due dilligence.

Trade holdings
China Aviation will need to cut loss by monday.

weekly chart shows a large bearish candle, no point holding on it seems like it will carry forward, i will re-enter another time.

This is the daily price, it has cut down into MA20, i will exit it as it is close to 50MA than it is to 20MA.this probably part of the range trading...

Dynamac. experienced a breakout, after holding this for sometime. Bought a small position of around $6K, but i believe it is because of the small position, that allowed for me to hold onto this counter for a long term to enjoy this breakout, otherwise if i had positions that were $8-10K, my stop loss of $500 would be hit very quickly and i would be shaken out. right now, The last candle suggest it is a bullflag in the making as the volume on that hovering day is low. it could be a situation of a friday close position, or really bull flag, but anyway still putting a trailing stop loss to protect my profits.

Fu Yu. Entered this counter because it is one of the perfect set-up( see the white wriggly line i draw, refer to this post). i'm expecting this counter to power up above 20c maybe to 23-24c, where i will take profits on the sign of a reversal in trend.

Jumbo this counter this did not pan out positively after XD. logically i will need to exit it once it cuts down the support. but the FA of the counter is beautiful so could re-enter if i do cut it.

Sunmoonfood held this counter for sometime already. was previously up by a few hundred dollars, on this $4k position but did not sell off as i believe there are better days coming. looking at the weekly chart, you can see there is a short term reversal of the downtrend coming.

So zooming into higher resolution of the daily chart, you can see that the last 2-3 weeks of short term down trend was just hovering phase of the uptrend that it is starting to enjoy. the volume for this is incredibly low suggesting a hovering/consolidation rather than a distribution.

Thaibev. just entered this position on breakout. the weekly candlestick shows a very huge nice candlestick that is likely to spill over the next week of trading.

The daily chart also paints a nice bullish volume + bullish candle on friday trading day, suggesting monday to trade higher. i have bought a smallish position ($7K) and hence considering support and maximum risk to accept, i will place my SL at around 83.5c.

Long term holdings
Accordia Golf trust. counter is above the 40wMA and 10wMA, bullish sentiment now as it has emerged from 10 months of range-trading. This could be smart monies/insiders buying up in expectation of good results release, and also the increased DPU. the japanese yen has increased quite a fair bit, and this counter proved to be able to provide sustained dividends. this is definitely a counter that can be held for the long term.

Mapletree Greater China Trust. I entered this counter because i felt this counter was in fair value with that recent drop in price. this trust also gives increasing dividends with a relatively stable share price. this counter is expected to continue to range trade as the bears came in and took away significant gains for the week. i would expect the subsequent weeks to range a fair bit as this counter would probably need to consolidate a bit before breakout out again. however because it is a good dividend counter, i am holding onto it, with an expectation of adding when it breakout of the 10wMA and also the 40wMA for a trade around core position.

OCBC. Start of uptrend after a 9 months ranging trade. this week trading ended with a very bullish solid candlestick pattern that suggest the bull will continue to range on the subsequent weeks.

Soilbuild BizREIT. this counter i have been holding it for awhile, and currently in the red with nearly $900 (~10%), the only reason why i am holding onto this counter is that the dividend has not reduce ( is flat). Currently it is in the long term down trend, but this week's move seems to show a reversal sign, so i am going to keep it for another week to see where it heads to. May add some when it cuts above 10wMA then 40wMA.But if this counter continues a new 52w low then i will cut.

Venture Corp. This is a electronics manufacturer that is focusing on the higher margin products. being trained in my first job as a semiconductor engineer... i do keep up with the news. this sector is experiencing good demand for the last few quarters. and Venture corp has been doing great. FA aside, the technicals are also beautiful. The long term trend is intact, just that for the next week or so, i am expecting the counter to range trade, as this week's candlestick indicates equal strength of bears and bulls.(checkout this earlier post of the candlestick patterns), might be an opportunity for me to add some more if the price enters an area of value ( 10wMA).
