[Weekly review] w35 2019

Thoughts
I apologise that i have not been very regular in updating my trading positions.
one reason i do not do so is because:

  • I've been busy with work & family engagements
  • market bearish and few uptrending counters for me to enter
  • I am also sharpening my thinking process to come up with a robust framework to analyse counters, so stay tuned.
  • I'm procrastinating....lol

Overall Market Sentiments
Uncertainties
  • Trade wars ( US-CN; JPN-KR; something brewing in VN)
  • Political unrest (HK unrest)
Technicals
STI is bearish or sideway trending at best.

Overall. What all that means is that there is volatility  (big swings within a week), and that while some countries will huat because of trade wars ( SG;MY;THAI;INDON) it means that overall the pie is shrinking. i have reacted by:
  • reduce trading ( down my risk exposure half of what i normally would)
  • spend my time looking out for better businesses that suit my income investment portfolio

Trading positions
But lets not waste time, and take a look at my open trading positions:

ThaiBev. Can hold on and ride the uptrend. this counter has the habit of spikes and consolidation creating bull-flag patterns....

PanUnited. Need to exit, but for PanUnited, i have some insights to it, as i visited them awhile back in their office and i felt that their management was forward looking, and they had a strong market advantage, being the outright leader in the cement-concrete supplier in Singapore.

AEM. Need to exit. It is long due, but this dip is because of XD.... this counter is not in as bad shape as the rest. but again i probaby can hold and see how to work it ( give it 2 weeks)
