[Quick update] 2017 w20 Mid week update

Foreword
Thought i did a quick update, as some of my SL were triggered, and in my daily 2x scan, i spotted a few bearish candlesticks and decided to pare down my holdings to reduce psychological burden.

Counter Exited
Hotung Inv. Hotung when i analysed it, it was a uptrending counter with a temporary countertrend, and I entered when the countertrend was reversed and at the point where it would be considered a "breakout". however, instead of breaking out, the counter's 16 May 2017 candlestick was super bearish and there was a selldown, followed by a super big price drop on XD. it effectively hit my SL, so i had to exit as per plan. No hard feelings, just making a decision as i think it would be better to pay the $500 contra losses, instead of trapping my liquidity.

Pared down counters
OCBC. As discussed in the previous post (see here) through the weekly candlestick and daily candlestick movement, we were certain of a cautiously bullish week, where i thought it would "hover"or pullback gently instead of a steep gapdown. so i pared down my holdings by 50% as i maintain a partial position, since i was still in the money.

Chip Eng Seng. My SL alerts were triggered, and i made a decision to pare down my holdings on CES instead of a full divestment. now retrospectively looking at it, i should not have pared down my holdings, because the bearish volume were low, and there seems to be a strong support at the 68.5c price. i guess i will add back CES, when there is a reversal in short term counter trend.

Conclusion
Reflecting,  I saw inconsistency in my exit/divest reason, i could not articulate my thoughts clearly why in one case i exited and in another case i pared down my holdings. I have been having thoughts on putting in writing how i should have some strategy instead of following a gut feel, and eventually making a deadly mistake. would love to hear your views on when u decide to pare down your holdings, and when you decide to exit totally, and probably i would assess whether it made sense. :)
